Easier consent management comes to Google Tag UI

Google rolled out integrated Consent Management Platform (CMP) setup in Google Tag UI, streamlining consent management across Google Ads, Google Analytics, Campaign Manager 360, and Google Tag Manager.

Why we care. This update simplifies compliance with privacy regulations, saving time and reducing the need for developer resources. It helps you to manage user consent seamlessly, enhancing transparency and trust.

How it works. You can now connect and manage consent settings directly within the Google Tag UI — no coding required. The integration supports CMPs like:

  • consentmanager
  • Cookiebot by Usercentrics
  • iubenda
  • Usercentrics

Getting started:

  1. Choose a Tag: Select the tag tied to your campaign.
  2. Follow Instructions: Get step-by-step guidance to:
    • Sign up for a CMP.
    • Create a consent banner.
    • Set up consent mode.

Bottom line. Google’s integrated CMP setup makes it easy to align your campaigns with privacy requirements. You can try it out here.
